"“Best hotel I have EVER stayed in” - (Tripadvisor Review)

No words can describe how I felt about my stay at the Camelot. Everything about it was more than perfect. I stayed there the night before my wedding with my bridal party and my immediate family. As a nervous anxious bride to be it was the most comforting, happy place to be. The staff were unbelievably incredible, The relief manager Cindy and her husband made sure my family were all comfortable and settled in, As we were in abit of a rush and running late for our rehersal she let us deal with the paper work when we arrived back. She came over to see my bridal party before we left to go to the wedding to see if there was anything else we needed, she even had a tear in her eye before I left to go to my wedding. I didn't get the chance to Thank her. The apartments were spotless, unbelievably comfortable. Convenient to the city centre, fanastic pool. If I could stay in any motel in the world it would be the Camelot by far. Thank you so much."

"Competition for accommodation in Hamilton’s Ulster St motel mile is always keen but there are a number of reasons why Camelot On Ulster is our preferred choice.

Recently I had the privilege of being a guest at the family-owned Camelot On Ulster and it’s plain to see that Alix and Mark, a well-known sporting couple, leave no stone unturned to ensure that their guests have the most comfortable of stays.

Alix and Mark are relatively new in the accommodation sector but their lack of experience is made up for by their passion, enthusiasm and great service.

Greetings at Camelot On Ulster arrival are refreshingly friendly and energetic and sets the tone for the stay.
The rooms are spacious, modern and tastefully decorated and YES the beds are super comfy ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep with their crisp, white sheets.

All the beds in the motel were replaced as part of the motel’s refurbishment programme. The single, queen and king beds in the studio rooms have a luxurious pocket-sprung mattress and base. The beds in the one, two and three bedroom family have inner-sprung mattresses and bases. All beds are made up with full bedding linen including protectors, triple sheeting, microfibre quilts, one microfibre pillow and one polyester pillow per sleeping position, and a decorative bed runner and cushion. King beds also have a heavenly mattress topper. Extra pillows and blankets are kept in the wardrobe.

Spa Baths are of a very good size and provide a nice relaxing end to the day.

In the suite I noticed the unique pieces of art which have been specifically painted by the team of artists at AB artstudio, branded as “Yanoosh”, to complement the décor.

As a business owner I was happy to see the free wi-fi was fast and reliable to use. You can park right outside your room and the car spaces are well sized.

Of the on-side amenities there are some stand-outs for the fitness conscious.
Firstly there is the outdoor swimming pool which provides the ability to have a decent swimming workout. The depth of the pool ranges from approximately 1.2 to 2 metres.

Camelot On Ulster even has its own on-site fitness studio, Fun Fitness. Both Mark and Alix are qualified trainers. The gym is well equipped with the latest gear to get you fit in a structured environment.

Another great aspect of Camelot On Ulster is its close proximity to all of the major Hamilton attractions such as the Hamilton CBD, The Base shopping facility, Te Rapa Racecourse, Waikato Stadium and the Claudelands Events Centre.

Rating: Excellent."

"We stayed for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The room was spotless, the service beyond reproach and our Hosts were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble and information on Hamilton was always available. The PGA's loss was certainly Camelot's gain. Thank you Mark & Alix for a lovely and stress free stay."

"Thanks for a great stay!!

We stayed overnight in Hamilton for a wedding the other week, and found this property perfect for our needs. We had 3 rooms to cater for ourselves and our adult 'children'. Alix and Mark were very accommodating and had our rooms ready for an early check-in so that we could change from the journey and get ready for the wedding - on a busy long weekend. We really appreciated it and also thank the staff who serviced the apartments for us, and who were really lovely as we got ourselves ready, dashing between apartments. The beds were amazingly comfortable, which after a late night was very welcome! Highly recommend staying here & reasonable prices too. Many thanks for a great stay."

"Dear Alix and all the team at Camelot on Ulster.

Thank you so very much for such an amazing stay at your establishment. Everything that we experienced while stay at Camelot was so pleasureable. We loved our room and it was so nice to be greeted by friendly, kind faces in the mornings while we were rushing off to our convention each morning.

It was so nice being able to have a comfy, quiet place to come back too after a long day with our kids. We truly did appreciate your hospitality and would LOVE to come back next year. The convention dates are usually the same weekends, so if we are able to pencil ourselves in, that would be lovely. Once we are set on the dates we will let you know ASAP.

Thank you again, and please ensure that this message is passed onto all."

"I stayed at the Camelot Motel in Hamilton for 6 weeks in Feb and March 2014. Having stayed near Hamilton Lake on previous visits, I was keen to see what it was like staying at the other end of town. I certainly wasn't disappointed!

Alix and Mark did me an amazing deal due to the length of my stay and it made my 6 weeks very affordable. I was out and about pretty much all day every day so it was nice to come back to a spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable bed, great kitchen facilities and the kind of spacious spa bath that I found hard to leave. The TV had all the main NZ channels as well as several Sky Sport channels which were great and the WIFI internet was quick, reliable and free! My room was probably the closest of all the rooms to the main road but with the double glazing I was barely aware of any traffic noise and slept really well as a result.

Camelot has an excellent location on Ulster Street. There's a Pak'n'Save nearby plus a Countdown just a bit further away. It's spot on for anyone wanting to watch the Chiefs play Super Rugby at Waikato Stadium (like me!) which is literally three minutes walk away. Camelot is also near a bus stop for the free shuttle bus that comes by every 10 mins so anyone who doesn't want to walk into Hamilton centre doesn't have to. The shuttle stops at the Transport Centre so anyone staying in Hamilton can easily use Camelot as a base to explore the wider region.

Alix and Mark are superb friendly hosts. They leave you alone to get on with your holiday but I always felt like they were available anytime should I have had any problems. There are many motels to choose from on Ulster Street but as far as I'm concerned the others would have to be extraordinary to match up to Camelot's comfort, atmosphere and value. I really didn't want to give my key back on my last morning and it felt like I was moving out of my home! Next time I'm in Hamilton there's only one place I'll be staying and that's Camelot.

Cheers Alix and Mark!"

"We recently stayed at Camelot Motel, Hamilton with a Hockey Team attending a tournament in Hamilton. There were 24 people staying with the team plus several parents who had booked the same Motel. There was also another team staying there attending the same tournament. As with any sports team washing is always a challenge as you need it washed and dried for the following day.

Even though there were two teams staying there, there was no problem with the washing - Alix took the washing each day and put it through the commercial washing machine and dryer. She did this without asking for additional payment. We also had the boys doing "hot & colds" after each game - where they had to use the outdoor swimming pool followed by soaking in a warm bath. Alix provided extra towels for them to use.

The rooms are tastefully decorated and each unit had its own full oven. The boys' rooms were large units with generous lounge areas and each unit had 3 bedrooms with two "proper" beds in each rooms which meant no one had to sleep in lounge or on rollaway beds. I can highly recommend this Motel. The staff and management were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them."

"We were three couples from the 'Lion City' touring the North Island of New Zealand. 12Sep2013 was the last leg of our tour and we intended to spend it in Hamilton before heading to the Auckland airport (2hrs away). From research, we knew that there were many accommodations on Ulster Street. On reaching Ulster Street, I said to the girls in our group to take their pick as to which motel they want to stay in. They were the ones to choose as the guys were more easy going and not fussy.

One of the girls called out that she liked the looks of Camelot Motor Inn. I immediately turned into the driveway. There we were greeted by Alix who was very pleasant, accommodating and pretty if I might say. We had pleasant conversations all round. Alix offered us the different types of rooms we can choose from. We indicated that we would take three rooms and she generously upgraded us to rooms with spas for two, when we asked. That really made our day. All the rooms were beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We slept very well and all were very happy. Wi-fi was free and unlimited.......hooray !!!

One of the rooms had an uncaring guest before and left the room full of cigarette smell. We highlighted to Alix and she arranged for another room next to it and it's a one bedroom suite unit instead of the studio suite. And that's another upgrade. Wow.......what else can we ask for ? Being the last night of our trip, we wanted a beautiful unit, a place to relax and this motel has the answers. Parking was great. Lots of space. Heard they have forty rooms in total. And what's more we asked for a late check out as our flight was in the night. That was granted in 10 seconds flat. We will remember that.

Also, we were told of the new mall (Te Awa) down the road that we could spend some time before catching our flight. That worked out very well too.

Thanks again Mark Boe and Alix. Cheers to you guys !"
