Sporting Couple bring major success for Camelot on Ulster

 

After taking over the operational management of Camelot on Ulster Motel in June of 2013, high profile sporting couple Mark Boe and Alix Stevens, pictured, have seen the central Hamilton motel go from strength to strength in every manner. Mark and Alix are both highly accomplished in their respective sports. Mark was a professional golfer and will be representing the Waikato again this summer in this sport while Alix is the captain of the Waikato netball team.

Featuring a diverse range of accommodation with spacious, large and quiet rooms, Camelot on Ulster is situated in central Hamilton. It is ideal for Corporates, families on transfer, regular travellers, sports teams, wedding groups and people visiting the nearby Te Rapa racecourse for thoroughbred race-meetings and other events.

Moteling runs in the blood for Mark Boe, who also has his own personal training business known as Fun Fitness.

“I grew up at Camelot as a young child and have fond memories here from when my parents ran this motel,” says Mark. Mark’s speciality is his superb customer service skills and he ensures that the large motel complex is always looking pristine and is in great order.Alix is certainly not afraid of hard work.

“I am willing to learn all there is to know about the accommodation industry and specifically the day to day running of the motel operation,” says Alix. Alix is also the PR person for the business with her professional image and friendly smile.Mark and Alix believe that their youthfulness is one of their greatest assets in the business.“We are full of energy, enthusiastic, friendly and have an eye for modern design and lastly we are not afraid of hard work,” says Alix.

Their passion for the accommodation sector is evident in every area of Camelot on Ulster.“We love the work we do, we love the lifestyle we have, we love meeting different people from all walks of life and we have clear goals that we are aspiring to within the industry for our future,” says Alix. Since taking over the operational management of Camelot on Ulster, Mark and Alix have increased the occupancy from 38% to 70% which is a majoraccomplishment in anyone’s language. “And we are still striving to increase this further,” says Alix.
